11/30 - Alexandra successfully defends her Master's Thesis titled, "Impact of Collagen Formulation on Matrix Microstructure and               Mass transport of Macromolecules." Congratulations!

11/14 - Sarah begins a postdoc position at Vanderbilt under Dr. Reinhart-King. Good luck and we'll miss you! 

10/19 - Sarah successfully defends her Ph.D. Thesis, titled, "Characterizing Interactions Between Cancer Cells and the Extracellular
             Matrix in Metastatic Breast Cancer Through Fibronectin Accumulation." Congratulations, Dr. Libring! 

10/17 - Heather begins a position as Technical Associate I at M.I.T. under Dr. Griffith as part of the Center for Gynepathology
             Research. Good luck and we'll miss you!

08/29 - Dr. Solorio begins work as the Director of the BME Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee, after Dr. Jackie
             Linnes completes her two-year role as the inaugural director. 

08/15 - Mazin begins working as a Graduate Intern in the Talen Development Academy Hub at Eli Lilly and Company in
             Cambridge, MA. He will be focused on engineered platforms for drug delivery analysis. We will miss you this Fall!

08/09 - Madison Howard joins the lab. Welcome!

07/22 - Eden successfully defends her Master's Thesis titled, "A Proteomics Based Approach to Characterizing Subcutaneous
            Tissue." Congratulations!

07/18 - Heather successfully defends her Master's Thesis titled, "Microtissues Demonstrate Properties of Wound Healing in 3D."
             Congratulations!

05/27 - Kelsey leaves the lab and will soon begin work as a Field Application Specialist at Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis. Good
             luck and we'll miss you!

05/23 - Sarah is awarded a Young Investigator Award for her abstract at The Midwest Tumor Microenvironment Meeting at the
             University of Kansas Medical Center

05/01 - Claudia is selected to receive the Indiana CTSI Predoctoral Award for Translational Research (TL1) for the proposal,
            "Increased rate of patient-specific 3D-printed bone graft osteoinduction resulting from controlled release of nanobubble
             encapsulated growth factors" to fund her from 2022-2024. Congratulations! 

04/26 - Jordanna successfully passes her preliminary exam and becomes a doctoral candidate in Biomedical Engineering.
            Congratulations! 

04/13 - Kelsey successfully defends her Ph.D. Thesis titled, "Noninvasive Characterization and Development of In Situ Forming
             Implants for Use as a Local Pancreatic Cancer Therapy." Congratulations, Dr. Hopkins!

04/13 - Sarah is awarded the Purdue College of Engineering 2022 Outstanding Research Award for the BME Department.

04/01 - Apekshya joins the lab as she becomes co-advised by Dr. Solorio and Dr. Rispoli. Welcome! 

03/11 - Brian leaves Dr. Solorio's and Dr. Vlacho's labs at Purdue University to begin his postdoctoral position at Los Alamos
             National Lab in New Mexico. He'll be researching on the Host and Pathogen Team, Bioscience Division. We'll miss you
             and good luck! 

03/07 - Anastasiia successfully passes her preliminary exam and becomes a doctoral candidate in Biomedical Engineering.

02/01 - Dr. Solorio is recognized as one of the top ten faculty, lecturers, and other staff members with the best teaching evaluations
             for Fall 2021 in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. Great work!

10/15 - Sarah becomes the 32nd recipient of the Geddes-Laufman-Greatbatch Award as Purdue's outstanding graduate researcher in
             Biomedical Engineering. Congratulations!

09/01 - Sarah is awarded the NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00) for the proposal, "Matrix
             Accumulation in the Metastatic Niche." Congratulations!

08/16 - Anastasiia begins work as a Drug Discovery and Development Graduate Intern in the Medicines Innovation Hub at Eli Lilly
            and Company in Indianapolis. She will help characterize peptide higher-order structure relating to drug substance isolation.
            We will miss you during the fall semester!

08/15 - Adriene and Evelyn are accepted into the Purdue BME 5th year BS/MS combined program. Congratulations!

07/21 - Brian successfully defends his Ph.D. Thesis titled, "Microfluidic Velocimetry for Investigating Molecular Transport and
             Cell Migration." Congratulations, Dr. Jun! 

07/01 - Elly finishes her time at Purdue University as she accepts a job with AstraZeneca. She will begin in September as an
             Operations Global Graduate Associate. Congratulations and we'll miss you! 

06/01 - Purdue student, Elyssia Wellington, joins TMET for the summer through the SURF REU program. Welcome!

12/31 - Sarah begins researching in our collaborator, Dr. Wilbert Zwart's, lab under the IIE GIRE fellowship at the Netherlands
             Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. Congratulations!

06/15 - Jordanna begins her Ph.D. full-time after completing the first two years of medical school in the M.D.-Ph.D program.

03/23 - Kelsey's abstract is ranked among the top four and is selected for an oral presentation at the Amelia Project Conference

03/06 - After being nominated by his lab, Dr. Solorio wins the 2019 BME Outstanding Mentor of Engineering Graduate Students!

03/01 - Dr. Solorio's R21 grant receives funding.
            It is titled: Prescription Opioid Formulation to Deter Extraction, Injection, Insufflation, and Smoking

02/26 - Dr. Solorio received the ASPIRE Award to develop a model that may enable clinicians to better predict the effectiveness of
            drug therapies for metastasized cancers

02/22 - Sarah is selected to receive the Indiana CTSI Predoctoral Award for Translational Research (TL1) for the proposal,
            "Building Better Drug Screening Platforms by Understanding 2D and 3D Cellular Interactions" to fund her from 2019-2021.
